Responsibility

“You are directly responsible for what you put into the world. Yet every day designers all over the world work on projects without giving any thought or consideration to the impact that work has on the world around them. This needs to change.”

~Mike Monteiro

No matter what you do for a living, your actions, or inactions, affect people in the world. This video, from designer Mike Monteiro makes that point and many others worth considering. He uses the context of his design work but his remarks are applicable far more generally.

The part in the middle about ego and fear is particularly interesting.

While the video has been around for a year or so (not quite–half a year then), it deserves far more attention than it’s niche audience.
