On Modern Servitude

-a provocative film worth watching

  1. Ten minutes in, and the strident, depressive tone doesn’t let up. Lots of complaint, greatly overstated imho. I don’t know what other economic set-up the narrator/producer would like to see in the place of capitalism, but quotes from Marx aren’t helpful. Desiring some sort of utopia is entertaining, but getting us there is the rub. People are both pack animals and lone wolves; we have to accommodate our dual nature. Utopia models have always been disastrous, failing miserably.
