A conversation overheard on the bus today

The bus pulls up to the stop and the door opens. And old man has been waiting to get on.

Old Man: That step’s a little high.

Bus Driver: I’ll lower it. Just hold on.

Bus driver adjusts a lever and hydraulics in the front of the bus lower the step and the old man climbs aboard.

Old Man: Getting older.

Bus Driver: Aren’t we all.

Old Man: I’ll be 76 in January.

Bus Driver: Good for you. Congratulations.

Old Man: If I live that long.

Bus Driver: Well don’t worry I’ll at least get you from point A to point B safely.

Old Man: Point B sounds good but I’m going to the Cancer Clinic.

The old man then laughed and so did everyone else.

  1. Nice. There is no way to “safely” get from Point A to Point B when Point B is, in the immortal usage of George Carlin, “your terminal destination.”
