The Gift of Dharma

The Corporate Body of the Buddha Educational Foundation located in Taipei Taiwan offers many free Dharma related materials including MP3s , books and pictures of Buddha,  in languages such as English, Hindi, Chinese, Thai, French and others.

From their website:

We are a Buddhist foundation based in Taipei, Taiwan, and it is our goal to promote the Buddha Dharma and to make the teachings freely available to the general public. We do not favour any one school or sect over another, and all are afforded equal respect.

All the materials are free and multiple copies can be ordered. Items would be shipped from Taiwan by sea. There are materials available from Theravada and Mahayana as well as items suitable for children. Here is a list of the items available in English. It includes such items as Walpola Rahula’s What the Buddha Taught, the Surangama Sutra and authors such as Ajahn Chah. There are items available from Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions.

Please read the ordering instructions carefully and write clearly the items wanted with all information as well as the amount and as they are shipped by sea it can take some time to receive them. The estimated time is 1-3 months. Larger quantities of items may have to be picked up at a sea port so if you’re not near a sea port or don’t know anyone who is perhaps don’t order too many at one time. (Sea mail is very cheap but very slow I’ve discovered as I use it sometimes to send things from India)

So for those who are struggling to afford quality Dharma materials there is an option. And for those who can afford fancy coffee or cushions a donation to support the work of this Foundation might assist others in their study of the Dharma.
